seen from afar,
standing all alone,
the grandest twilight,
reflecting white.
volcanic cone majestic,
quiet and full of indian pride,
cascading glaciers ride,
down avalanche gulch.
oh lemuria, oh lemuria,
overlook great black forest,
down hidden valley flows
a magnetic force tempest.
up old hill of misery,
climb to the summit,
muir soaked sulphur springs,
braided valley folds in trinity.
oh shasta, oh shasta,
made a mystic out of me,
to live by nature’s tenet,
a perfect place to flee.
