When The Curves Line Up

When The Curves Line Up

the warp and the weft,

five planets and a crescent,

moonlight spectacle.

the flax and the twine,

white walls and fiddle-leaf fig tree,

boho rhapsody.

farfalle or pappardelle?

naked-eye hanging tapestry...

Mercury and Venus,

the grove and the buck

all lined up this month.

blazing Aldebaran–

three spacecraft leave for Mars!

loom-making celestial mechanics,

Jupiter and Saturn

through perseid to the lone star

and parabolic comet neowise.

clarion call and extreme unction

weave before sunrise

when the curves line up,

head to the great solstice conjunction.
