Viral Inspiration #deranged #decadent Poetess
try to hide in your own tentacles
solitary couple or pair,
as smart as octopuses,
octopodes but never octopi.
slightly cynical,
eight legs stroke the oyster bed
of perfect filter feeders,
cleaning gallons of expert advice
watering through pearly fingers.
look, more viral inspiration!
stars and sea lions come out
for the cause and there you are
working that crossword puzzle,
shifting words away from international
when the party is trying to be so global.
all those hashtags #sb50 #superbowl
and there you are the superb owl
overthinking everything. fail harder... work harder...
get out there network, persevere at all costs.
so much advice fools throw around...take it easy,
now look back, your work was not for naught.
avoid toxic people but toxicity is in the division.
humanity is one with two legs. don’t get caught
trust your feelings, just run away.
stay positive, really? advice, anti-advice
just be honest. don’t follow leaders.
instead, fill that bird feeder.
do what you want to do. find your flock!
test that new introduction,
is it really nice to meet you?
one daughter is snowmobiling in tahoe,
another is out past point bonita lighthouse
on rodeo beach, horseback riding,
my son’s body rots in his grave.
leaving the empty blank stares to brave,
the shock in his sweet name
if they are smart enough to care.
long hair wrapped tightly
around fat baby fingers,
a tourniquet
on his thoughts so great to share.
a star reached an early pinnacle,
leaving tendrils. charmed i’m sure kiss
on the hand, no one has a clue...
do what works for you.
gather feathers, pull in the tentacles,
protect your bed, #deranged #decadent poetess.
