A force majeure, female catalyst, futurist, polemicist, psychonaut, epistemologist. Ruminating between the lines with a clarion call and extreme unction.  A global writer with southern roots.

The Editor's 2016 Readymades

As I sit here contemplating the possibility of a fifth force

in a room full of readymades: ballpoint pen, honeycomb vase,

Emily's envelopes, lost in a world of everyday found objects;

It is a nice change from the heavy search for truth in water,

formed or invented, hydrogen and oxygen in elemental joy.

Did you read they are drilling directly into this, the aquifer!

A stack of unread book spines make poetic gesture,

each a popup world of four known forces falling off my chair;

a Louis ghost, Barcelona, Savonarola, just take the Zai Su...

Bee on the nose, hush indexed lips lined in a row,

fornasetti stretches the line with a row– of known unknowns.

Reading The Vegetarian prays to Jesus to defeat gravity,

athirst through casement windows the soul’s sound running.

Brooklet arms the stones we stacked in defiance

as if a cure of joyous tears bubbles from this fountain of truth.

The North Water reflection of the big man’s collage stirs chaos

to interfere briefly with decay. Does anyone count the waves?

observant eye went back out to sea to look for complex installations

moving through space, a sacred container, a force majeure!

Positive and negative electromagnetism, weak and strong

nuclear force, recite words from speeches and scientific papers.

Verbatim goodish swirls in corbusier colors, a protophobic anomaly.

Hence no force, however great, can stretch a cord, however fine,

into a horizontal line which is accurately straight. Display readymades

of like things on a shelf, smash them all back to the glue that binds

things together. Circling radioactive decay, force carrier particles,

gravitons, photons, gluons W and Z bosons.. this solve for X

Dark Money. Little noted nor long remembered, a fifth force

does not change the universe of stacked books, the best of this

year’s spine. War and Turpentine, Evicted,

The Underground Railroad, The Association of Small Bombs,

in The Darkroom The Return. I read them all at the Existentialist's Cafe:

Freedom, Being, and Apricot cocktails rest on the table again.
