How To Cultivate A Moon Garden:
Dig out the shape of a perfect crescent, to the right
Splash rich soil in seeds of sweet evening primrose.
Mix in among silver-foliaged day bloomers: botanical
Dusty miller, lamb’s ear, silver thyme, mugwort artemesia;
Night bloomers of white luminescence that reflect moonlight:
Angel’s trumpet, evening stock, night gladiolas all magical.
On a blustery day, reminisce and bask in among night phlox,
Honey and vanilla pretties that open right at dusk,
The climber moonflower, sweet piece de resistance
Fragrant backdrop under bedroom on a window trellis!
Mine sits edged in bee balm, red hot poker, and lupine
Sweet nectar for hummingbirds and speckled wood.
Beloved witch-hazel heartily casts her spell.
So above, so below! All the ritual herbs: willow,
Water lily, sleepwort, camphor, eucalyptus,
Gardenia, jasmine, moonwort, and sandalwood.
Dark jeweled moonless nights yet still a heavy oily fragrance lifts.
