Engrams

Engrams

living in a city of lost engrams time has stolen memories.

shivers of simultaneous excitations fear the eternal present.

time, avoidance, neglect, has silenced the reveries...

trace imprints stored, consolidated, retrieved plasticity.

integral units of identity live in distinct neighborhoods,

pockets, whole blocks of neural connections in this electric city.

how do you define a memory? standing in the security line

ushered out to go dance by the flowing river of the past,

somewhere does the future already exist? fountains of mine!

truth in revelations in front of the Fontana della Pigna,

the pine cone of St. Peter caught eyes of past life,

three times but only one dance with the peacocks...

electrons, quarks experience consciousness on atomic clock

beat, imprint. episodic memories require rapid synaptic spark

for permanent storage, only the fear memory maintained active

refuses to go down or be silenced. it remains ready and able.

stacked skyscrapers line tight roads pervading this universe.

time has stolen memories living in the city of lost engrams...

in the bee garden of sunflowers and starflower borage,

diabolical entanglement... crucial circuits for systems barrage

at this gate of all wonder, its face appeared long and large.
