Autumn Night—aftermemory of gravity

Autumn Night—aftermemory of gravity

a magical autumn night waits in the trees
canopy walk, point to point, straight zipline
conveying its message through the dark sky—
systole, diastole, murmuring beats
contained in silence, contained in force,
in consequence, in the biological anchor

gravity profoundly shapes the human brain
one breath, trinity in the cube, focus on twenty seven

one puff of air, and syllable becomes a mouthful
one jot, one whit, one iota, one fragment of meaning
echoing outward as vocable, entity, sound—
consciousness escaping its vessel
to hang, weightless, in nothingness

islands in the stream, wider than the hum,
an ensemble of infinitesimal pieces of the universe,
larger than all the stars, bending spacetime—
you exsanguinate in superposition, entangled
in the void in the dark-matter between things,

for infinity pulsing toward the possibility of eternity.

the quantum state of light
still carrying the aftermemory of gravity.
