a subtle twinge
a subtle twinge
in the pigments of night—
cold moody blue,
the eye half-tinted
by what the ear hears:
a tinge of twilight
held in a rose-violet arch,
magentas caught
in the indigo—
an emerald ray
parched of green,
cobalt-grey pigments
drawing the curtain
over opal.
the tranquil tinge
of something howling
through the spirit,
wordless, vocal.
howl the spirit vocal!
perceptions turn opaque.
we drift in desaturated turquoise,
dragged under by purple,
downregulated by dusk.
dampen.
mute.
diminish.
improve the signal-to-noise ratio.
sharpen.
synchronize.
oscillate
and respond.
stay alert
to the colors
downloading the day—
riding the arch of twilight
between what is true
and what is absolute,
that last faint tinge
of twilight
the dark cannot name.
